Although students come to the Painting School of Montmiral because they know that the drawing and painting workshops / courses here provide a serious learning experience, Castelnau de Montmiral offers many opportunities for relaxation, whether in the form of country walks, playing boule or just enjoying a drink at the local bar. Students can also visit the many nearby historic towns such as Gaillac, Cordes-sur-Ciel, St Antonin sur Val, with its colourful Sunday market, and Albi, with its Muséee Toulouse Lautrec and its famous Cathedral.
